About Us

Bedside Nursing (BSN) is a web based novel way for inpatient nurses to gain valuable education directly applicable to their daily work needs.

About Us

In today’s world of high volume, short stay medicine, nurses are in exceptionally high demand.  When a nurse is hired, the hospital expects them to function independently often with very little inpatient orientation. They act almost entirely on baseline knowledge gained in nursing school.  Because of this, countless intelligent, hardworking, compassionate, nurses quickly leave the inpatient arena.  In fact, many of our potential best nurses leave, before they even really get started. Typically, this is the result of feeling that they are not providing the high-quality care that they would like to.

Bedsidenursing.com is designed to appeal to the inpatient nurse, particularly in smaller community hospitals. The video series is a compilation of the most commonly encountered diagnoses. Using a disease-based model, we present important points for the nurse to grasp. These include basic physiology, expected treatment, and what to do when things start to veer from the norm.

The videos are presented in an interactive manner from specialists in their field. After viewing the video, the nurse will be given the opportunity to earn CEUs.  The content is up to date, evidence based, and is an invaluable asset for the new nurse as well as a succinct refresher for the seasoned veteran. Because the videos are concise, information packed, and available online, they can be accessed at any time, and are an excellent reference at the point of care.

From a global healthcare perspective, bedsidenursing.com has been shown to benefit all facets of inpatient care.  Using BSN has shown improvement in nursing job satisfaction and improved nursing retention. From a patient perspective we see improved patient outcomes, decreased lengths of stay, and improved patient satisfaction scores.

Our goal at BSN is to improve nursing care of the hospitalized patient. We work collaboratively with nurses, hospitals, and hospital administrators to provide a valuable resource. By doing so, BSN will help equip the nurse with knowledge and specific skill-set to provide high quality inpatient care.
